SENIORS LEAGUE
Anyone 50 years or older is welcome to join the Seniors League. Curling, league play will tentatively start October 28, 2024. This is a recreational fun league - if you have no experience, or are a long-time curler, you will enjoy the relaxed social and curling events. There are no set teams in any of our regular or invitational events. All players present are placed on a team by random draw. If possible, players will be assigned to the position requested. This system eliminates the players' obligation to arrange for spares - simply participate in games and events when you choose Our schedule is one eight-end game, twice per week: 12:45pm on Mondays and Thursdays starting the week that the ice is in. We also occasionally hold a one-day skins scramble Bonspiel with curlers from Fernie and Pincher Creek. This bonspiel is unique as it consists of three 4-end games, and points are won on an individual basis rather than by team, and all players are assigned to a new team after each game. Teams consist of players from both towns. You may join the Crowsnest Curling Club as a senior in two ways: - 50+ years pay $175 for full season membership (includes GST, Curling Alberta fee and year end banquet) and 80+ years will receive this full season membership at no cost and pay $50 to cover the Curling Alberta fee and year end banquet , or - pay $5 for each game played (pay as you go) - if you curl more than four games, your league coordinator will collect a $17 Curling Alberta fee. The Club will follow current provincial guidelines - please respect the personal masking choices of curlers, volunteers, and spectators. For those wishing to pay for the season, click our Registration, Fees and Obligations tab for more information. The Seniors League Coordinators are Mary Anna Misseghers (563-3364) and June Vastenhout (563-9350). |
